Architect Mansur Kurfi Turbaned as Maradin Katsina

The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, on Saturday, turbaned Architect Mansur Amadu Kurfi as the second Maradin Katsina and District Head of Kurfi.

The ceremony, held at the Emir’s Palace in Katsina, drew dignitaries from across the country and was conducted with the assistance of the Kauran Katsina.

In his address after the turbaning, Emir Abdulmumini Kabir Usman described the appointment as an act of God. He called for unity among the Muslim Ummah and the people of northern Nigeria, urging them to work towards restoring the region's and the country's lost glory.

The emir also advised people to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Quran and emulate the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for prosperity and salvation. He emphasized that divine intervention in the country’s challenges is possible if people turn to God and support one another.

Congratulating the new Maradin Katsina, the Chairman of Kurfi Local Government Area, Mannir Shehu Wurma, praised Architect Mansur Amadu Kurfi for his dedication to the progress of his people. He urged him to follow in the footsteps of his late father, who was known for his patience and selflessness, to advance the development of Kurfi Local Government Area.

The chairman also prayed for God’s guidance and strength for the new Maradin Katsina in fulfilling his responsibilities.

  • Danwankan Katsina – Alhaji Muktar Ibrahim Talba
  • Maremawan Katsina – Alhaji Sule Maaji
  • Chief Imam of Mangal Jumu’ah Mosque, Sheikh Iyal Gafai
  • Limamin Saulawa – Mallam Ibrahim Imam

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including business mogul Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, district heads from the Katsina Emirate, former Deputy Governor of Katsina State Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, representatives of the Emirs of Kazaure and Katagum, and Kogunan Kurfi, Alhaji Ibrahim.
